The Xtra Firm is a graduation, not an entry. If you are new to textured rolling, or you are still getting a strong response from the Original, start there instead. Firmer is not better — it is only better once the Original has stopped doing the work.
Try rocking, not just rolling
Switch from rolling to a slow side-to-side rocking motion. The bumps resist far more when loaded sideways than when rolled over, so they reach deeper without any change in body weight.
